A New Opportunity to Serve

Helping Hands has been blessed with the equipment needed to begin distributing refrigerated and frozen foods. We now have a walk-in refrigerator and freezer, along with commercial reach-in refrigerators that volunteers can easily access.

The equipment is ready. Now we need to develop reliable sources of fresh and refrigerated food for the low-income seniors we serve.

We understand that adding these foods to the Helping Hands distribution system will present new challenges. We plan to begin slowly, learn as we go and build upon what the Lord has provided.

Our greatest need is for food to arrive at the warehouse on the second Friday of each month, immediately before our regular distribution on the second Saturday. Because distribution begins at 8:00 a.m., the food must be received, organized and ready early that morning.

We are seeking sources for items such as:

  • Fresh fruit
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Bread and baked goods
  • Refrigerated foods
  • Other fresh items suitable for senior households

We also need volunteers who can help locate food sources, pick up donations, transport food to the warehouse and prepare it for distribution.

This is more than a new food program—it is another opportunity to serve our Neighbors in Need with dignity, care and compassion.

If you feel called to become involved in this important ministry, please leave a message at 951-821-6080, and someone from Helping Hands will contact you.

It’s a “God Thing”

“It’s a God Thing” is what our Helping Hands volunteers call those unexpected moments of grace—little miracles that happen while serving our Neighbors in Need. These events may not always make sense at first, but they often reveal a deeper purpose, reminding us that we’re part of something bigger

Another Special Pack Day

What a beautiful Saturday it was!

A group of kindhearted, compassionate friends came together at the Helping Hands packing event, working side by side to prepare thousands of pounds of food for our Neighbors in Need.

This day was extra special — over 14 local churches were represented! Whether packing groceries, dropping off donations, or picking up food to deliver in their own communities, everyone played a part in showing love through service.

Want to get involved? Join us every second Saturday of the month to Pack food, you can Donate to help our mission and most of all, pray for us

Together, we are Helping Hands.

Our Christmas Story

Christmas Story for 2024 the year of “Doing More”

This year’s Christmas story is about the Grace of our God.  For the 3rd year Helping Hands is running the “Toys From The Heart” program. We have been collecting toys for several weeks and have about 250 as of today.  Today another 150 were delivered with more coming.  Helping Hands and the local children will be blessed one more time.

As in years past, Helping Hands delivers those toys to a pantry on the south side of Perris and the remaining go to a pantry on the north side of Perris.  In making arrangements for deliveries, we were told by the leader in the south pantry that her church was not happy we were working on Saturday and refused the toys.  The north pantry informed us the same day that they received a truck load of toys and would not need ours.  What a strange turn of events.

Thinking through the situation and praying about it, our leaders decided to contact a lady we have worked with in the past.  She has a passion for helping others in one of the communities of Lake Elsinore.  Years ago, Helping Hands helped this lady with food and a housing voucher as she was homeless.  Today, she is a well-known advocate for a local low-income area elementary school that has 650 students.  We texted her a note about toys and she called instantly.  She told us that she was just going to call us as her toy drive had fizzled and many kids will go without.

Well guess what, with the assistance of a special lady, many of those kids will show up at this Saturday’s Helping Hands packing event.  Helping Hands will have cookies, doughnuts, hot cocoa and a visit with Santa Clause and the Grinch.  We expect that every child will also receive a toy.  Our God is so good.
